How to delete your browsing history to protect your online activity

Your computer stores information about the websites you visit on the internet through your browser. Your browser is the program you use to access the internet and may be called Google Chrome, Safari, Firefox or Internet Explorer. If you are concerned that someone might find out that you have visited a particular website, you can delete your browsing history.

You can choose whether to delete your entire browsing history or only parts of it. We recommend deleting your recent browsing history when you have finished visiting websites that you do not want others to know about. This way, only part of your history is removed, rather than everything, which could appear suspicious if someone checks your browsing history. Here is a list of links showing how to delete browsing history in different internet browsers.
