We are a modern organisation with our hearts in the right place. Since opening Gaia Crisis Centre Aarhus in 2021, we have expanded within just a few years to include nationwide outpatient counselling, as well as a crisis centre and a family house in Kjellerup. Today, we provide a wide range of services for people who have experienced violence.
We work in an atmosphere of openness, warmth, and respect for each person’s individuality. Every day can feel different, and we are here to hold all of it with you. Because when you are doing well, we are doing well.
Our services
We can help with
We don’t know who you are when you first walk through our door. But we do know what you are trying to leave behind. And we know how to help you and your children find safety and support.
Safety
We offer you a safe residential stay with 24-hour staffing and access to staff at all times, so you can feel secure around the clock.
Support, advice, and guidance
We provide support and guidance both during outreach counselling and throughout your stay, including tailored counselling sessions based on your situation, as well as weekly sessions during your stay at one of Fonden Gaia’s services.
Processing and healing
During your stay, we offer therapeutic support, body-based therapy, and individual and group therapy, giving you space to work through the violence you have experienced.
Children
We also support children in expressing and processing their experiences through conversations, age-appropriate therapy, and activities that create safety and make everyday life easier for both children and young people.
Aftercare and network
We help you rebuild a support network after your stay at the crisis centre through cooperation with organisations such as Mødrehjælpen, Q-net, Kvindehuset, and Gaia’s reunion café, ensuring you have support both during and after your stay.
Support with public authorities
We assist you in dealing with public authorities—for example, understanding and responding to emails, and maintaining contact with relevant institutions such as the Family Court, the municipality, and others.
At Fonden Gaia in Aarhus and Kjellerup, we offer you
A safe, homely, and supportive space
What all our days have in common is that we create safety in everyday life in a way that feels right for you. Because when you feel safe, you can gradually find the strength and space to move toward the life you truly want.
